My idea of the perfect weekend breakfast is a stack of Pancakes with butter and maple syrup dripping down its sides. I love how Pancakes use the most basic of ingredients. Just flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, an egg, a little butter, and milk. Pancakes are one of my favorite breakfast, I can have them for brunch, lunch anytime. It's very easy to make recipe. Please do try this out.
Recipe: Pancakes
Type: Breakfast
Preparation time: 10 mins
Cooking time: 10 mins
Total time: 20 mins
Serves: 2-3 people
Dry Ingredients:
- All-purpose flour - 1 cup
- Granulated white Sugar - 2 tbsp
- Baking powder - 2 Tsp
- Salt -1/8 Tsp
Wet Ingredients:
- Egg- 1 large
- Butter - 2 tbsp melted
- buttermilk - 1 cup (milk 1 cup + vinegar 1 tbsp)
Note:
- All ingredients should be at room temperature for good results.
- Use appropriate measurement cups for good results. The measurement cups I use here are US standard measurement.
- If you are out of buttermilk instead you can mix milk with vinegar to get the exact optional buttermilk.
Preparation:
- First of all, mix the milk and vinegar and keep it aside for 10 mins.
- Mix all the dry ingredients together in a bowl.
- Crack an egg into a bowl, mix it well. Then add the melted butter and buttermilk mixture and mix the wet ingredients well until they uniform.
- Then in batches add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and gently mix them.
- Make sure you do not over mix the wet and dry otherwise the pancakes won't be soft.
- Keep a non-stick pan with a thick bottom on the stove on a medium high flame or you can also use an electric griddle with the temperature set at 350 degrees F (180 degrees C).
- Spray some oil only if the pan is not non-stick. If you are using a non-stick pan then skip this step.
- Pour some batter with a spoon and let it cook.
- When the bottoms of the pancakes are brown and bubbles start to appear on the top surfaces of the pancakes (2-3 minutes), turn over. Cook until lightly browned (about 1-2 minutes).
- Serve immediately with butter and maple syrup or you can also serve them with whipping cream, fresh fruits, or honey.
- You can make this recipe healthy by using oats flour or wheat flour instead of all-purpose flour or mix it up. The measurements will remain the same just use what you want.
- Oats pancakes will taste different than these but on the other hand, these are the healthier option.
- If you want to increase the quantity just increase the flour and milk ratio others will remain the same.
Thank you :)
